The Short Answer: Heim House Mission
Statement
Heim House will tweak the corporate way
In pursuit of cartoon money,
It will be secure
Through the art of funny.
ETC:
Anyone who at first blush can't make rhyme or reason out of Bob
Heim now has a choice. Bob knows that any self respecting company
with plans to be in business at this time next year has a mission
statement. The fact that he never saw a mission statement that
rhymed during his years in and around the corporate world made
the decision to wax poetic an easy one. But he says the "reason" to
look at his work will have to be made on a case by case basis,
knowing full well that not everyone will find a reason to look
beyond a few cartoons. Adios.
Bob's
wish for those who linger is that they will share some of the fun he's having
in drawing for you. He long ago learned the folly and futility of trying to please
everyone, so he works in that place he finds funny in an effort to please himself.
He remains ever hopeful, however, that others who are coming from a similar place
will find him. And say "hello."
For
those who choose to share his journey, Bob wants you to know that his cartoon
material comes from the hum drum of today and a variety of life experiences.
Experience as a commercial pilot, for example, included work for a small scheduled
airline. And journalism work and a career-Marine brother got him a writing experience
in Vietnam. As a PR director he worked for a national advertising company and
served as assistant vice president in a billion dollar plus corporation.
When
he thinks of additional day jobs that contributed material to a full-blown cartooning
career, Bob clicks off military service, traveling salesman, railroad (student)
brakeman in Colorado and work in the marketing department of a small healthcare
facility in a tiny Pennsylvania town.
The
president, chairman, CEO, head honcho, creative director and mailroom supervisor
of Heim House International wants you to know that his "other" jobs
lasted from two days to 18 years. He also wants you to know that his best cartooning
efforts lie ahead, and that he approaches the work each day with enthusiasm knowing
that each day holds the potential for reaching new friends.
